The added scientific value the BIP brings is by highlighting the mobility and environmental issues in transport and logistics sector in EU region and identify and apply solutions to reduce them. Moreover, another major advantage the BIP offers the students is learning to work in teams and multicultural environments. The 5 days of face-to-face activities, with a workload of eight hours a day, which include theoretical and practical classes, workshops and visits to laboratories represent an experience which enriches the intercultural experience, by combining traditions from the host country of the BIP with the interaction between students, teachers and the representatives of private companies’ sector.
Methods and outcomes: First of all you will have a global and also a regional perspective regarding sustainable mobility. By this term we will try to cover with the help of the keynote speakers from ITS Romania and the Traffic management center in Timisoara the main problems that are now in the city of Timisoara and in Romania in general regarding the prioritization of the public transport and decongestion of the main intersections. We will cover the ways of monitorization in real time of the traffic and intervene in real time to correct or solve the problem that occur during peak hours in intersections. Also we will debate from the environmental point of view regarding chemical and noise pollution generated by the traffic on main roads and intersections and we will find (group work) ways to reduce them. We will discuss mobility in a city using different types of transport mainly green ones taking into consideration: cost, time and parking space. At the end all the participants (students) will have to create a project that will solve the problems presented and can be applied in other cities such as Timisoara (in this project we will take into consideration the cost, time, parking space, eco friendly and sustainable ways of transport, and multimodal ways of transport from A to B)
