WP1: Teams of Management

WP2: Designing Global Classrooms

WP3: Global Classrooms in Action

WP1: Management Teams

Description with objective:

This work package aims to identify needs and opportunities in the Internationalization of the Curriculum (IoC), recognize internationalization management structures in European universities, and design an Internationalization Management System (IMS) focused on the IoC in each Latin American Higher Education Institution (HEI).

Activities:

·       IoC Diagnostics

An initial assessment of the needs and opportunities of Latin American HEIs in IoC will be conducted, using methodologies applied by the University of Alicante (UA) in previous Erasmus+ CBHE projects. An analysis of opportunities will also be included to identify areas for growth and adapt to global trends.

·       Kick-off meeting

The kickoff meeting will take place at the UA, with a detailed project plan. This meeting will be an opportunity to engage institutional leaders and ensure effective collaboration from the outset. Each HEI will be represented by two team members.

·       Field visit and data collection

The Latin American partners will visit the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and the Polytechnic University of Timisoara (UPT) to learn about IoC-related practices. These visits aim to gather valuable information for developing strategies and fostering cross-regional collaboration.

·       Internationalization Management System (IMS)

Based on the assessment and the visits conducted, each Latin American HEI will develop its own IMS, tailored to its needs. This system will promote collaboration between international relations offices and academic units, fostering diversity and excellence in curricular internationalization.

·       Selection of global leaders

Each HEI will select four faculty or staff members to act as IoC liaisons in their faculties or departments. In the case of CCYK, an open call will be made among its members. These leaders will promote IoC initiatives and facilitate their integrated implementation.

Expected result:

D1.1 Diagnostic report and SGI for each Latin American HEI.

A document will be generated in English and Spanish compiling each university’s assessment and IMS. This strategic framework details the IoC initiatives, including a structured plan for their implementation and monitoring. The report will be published in digital format (PDF) and will be approximately 50 pages long.

WP2: Designing Global Classrooms

Description with objective:

This work package aims to propose a training course on Innovative Pedagogical Practices for Curriculum Internationalization (IPIoC), design the concept of the global classroom, train the leadership team (teachers and administrative staff) of each HEI, and develop a manual for the implementation of pedagogical innovations in curriculum internationalization.

Activities:

·       Design of training courses

European HEIs will design a comprehensive training course focused on innovative pedagogical practices for IoC. This course will include learning objectives, detailed content, and assessment methods, ensuring its adaptation to the needs and contexts of Latin American HEIs and promoting intercultural knowledge exchange.

·       Layout and design of the IPIoC

The design and layout of the IPIoC guidelines will aim to ensure the clarity and accessibility of the materials to facilitate their replication in other HEIs in Latin America. This will include a manual and an online course (MOOC) that will incorporate engaging visual elements such as charts and infographics to enhance understanding.

·       IPIoC Training

Global leaders from each HEI will participate in a structured training program on innovative pedagogical practices, focusing on IoC, Global Citizenship, and Interculturality. This 90-hour course will prepare participants to effectively manage educational processes and operate in diverse cultural contexts.

·       Co-Creation Bootcamp

Following the training course, a bootcamp will be held in Argentina, organized by the UCA. This event will use the Open Space Methodology (OSM) to design a global classroom tailored to the needs of each higher education institution. The bootcamp will encourage dialogue, interaction, and collaboration among participants.

Expected results:

·       MS2: Teachers trained in innovative pedagogical practices for IoC.

·       D2.1 Training course program: Educational materials in digital format to guide participants’ learning.

·       D2.2 MOOC: Online course with a variety of visual and educational resources.

·       D2.3 Global Classroom Manual: An interactive document in English and Spanish that will serve as a guide for the design and implementation of global classrooms.

WP3: Global Classrooms in Action

Description with objective:

This work package aims to implement pedagogical innovations for Internationalization of the Curriculum (IoC) in undergraduate and graduate courses at Latin American HEIs and develop a functional prototype of a global classroom that promotes advanced, collaborative, and integrative learning at an international level.

Activities:

·       Global Classroom Prototype

A comprehensive global classroom model will be developed that combines pedagogical and technological elements, incorporating virtual spaces for real-time collaboration, multilingual support, and cultural integration tools. It will also include impact indicators to evaluate its effectiveness. This prototype will be tailored to the needs of each institution, and its technological implementation will be accompanied by faculty training to ensure optimal and autonomous use of global classroom tools.

·       Global Practices in the Classroom

Pedagogical innovations will be applied in 20 undergraduate and graduate courses at Latin American HEIs, with the goal of updating and modernizing educational content under the IoC approach.

·      Cascade Training Plan

Global leaders who have completed their IPIoC training and implemented pedagogical innovations will train other teachers at their HEIs. Each trained teacher will train five additional colleagues, achieving a multiplier effect that will ensure a steady stream of new teachers prepared to adopt IoC strategies.

Expected results:

·       Validated prototype: The global classroom prototype will be adopted by the HEIs in the consortium, documented in a digital PDF in Spanish of approximately 20 pages.

·       Implementation of pedagogical innovations: Renewal of 20 courses in selected disciplines at Latin American HEIs.

·       D3.1 Global Classroom Prototype: Detailed document on the adopted global classroom model.

·       D3.2 Global Classroom Practices Video: 10 testimonial videos that will present the experiences and outcomes of the revamped courses, including faculty and student perspectives.
